Triamcinolone acetonide 100 mg
TOPICORT Cream Properties :
It contains triamcinolone acetonide, a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid which is five times as potent as hydrocortisone in treatment of local inflarrmatory, pruritic and allergic dermatological conditions Following application of it, triamcinolone acetonide rapidly penetrates the stratum corneum achieving effective concentrations at the affected skin area with minimum systemic absorption. At the site of inflammation. TOPICORT inhibits the release of various cytokines, suppresses migration at inflammatory cells and reduces tissue edema caused by Increased capillary permeability Clinically, TOPICORT rapidly relieves and treats local inflammatory and allergic manifestations including itching, redness, hotness, tenderness and edema due to eczema, hypersensitivity reactions and autoimmune diseases TOPICORT is the topical corticosteroid of first choice for treatment of psoriasis and relief of itching associated with other skin diseases, such as lichen planus and local forms of urticaria TOPICORT is safe and well lolerated, non-greasy, non-irritant and non-staining with no systemic side effects
TOPICORT Cream Pharmacokinetics :
FollOWing topical application of TOPICORT, less than 5% of the dose of triamcinolone acetonide is absorbed through intact skin Occlusive dressings substantially increase percutaneous absorption of triamcinolone acetonide. Binding to plasma proteins is low The absorbed drug is metabohzed in the liver and excreted mainly In the urine and to a lesser extent In the bile.
TOPICORT Cream Indications :
– Eczema ( acute and chronic allergiC dermatitis) including contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrhetc dermatitis and nummular dermatitis. -Psonasis
– lichen planus
– Urticana pigmentosa
– Anogenital pruritus
– Insect bites
– Diaper rash
– Sunbums and localized burns (first and second-degree)
TOPICORT Cream Mode of use :
A thin film of TOPICORT is applied to the aHected area and rubbed in gently
– Adults: 3 – 4 times daily according to seventy of condition
– Children and infants: 1-2 times dally
TOPICORT Cream Contraindications :
Hypersensitivity to triamcinolone acetonide or other corticosteroids
TOPICORT Cream Precautions :
Topical cortcosteroids should be used with the proper antimicrobial agents in case of skin Infection. Application of the drug over broken large skin areas should be avoided
TOPICORT Cream Side effects :
It is safe and well tolerated Rarely, local Irritation or erythema may occur.
TOPICORT Cream in Pregnancy and lactation :
Preparations containing corncosterords are used during pregnancy and lactation if clearly Indicated
