Prisoline zinc eye drops composition:
Each 100 ml contains :
Naphazoline Hydrochloride 50 mg
ChIorpheniramine Maleate 50 mg
Zinc Sulphate 250 mg
In Isotonic Buffered Solution.
Prisoline zinc eye drops properties :
It has a vasoconstrictor, anti-histaminc. astringent and antiseptic actions. The vasoconstrictor action is due to its content of Naphazoline Hydrochloride, the highly effective decongestant, it has a rapid and prolonged effect. Chlorpheniramlne Maleate, present in it, is a potential anti-histaminc and it is of greal value in treatment of allergic manifestations of the eye, while Zinc Sulphate has an astringent and antiseptic actions.
Prisoline zinc eye drops indications:
– Acute and chronic conjunctivitis, particularly the angular type.
– Spring catarrh and allergic conjunctivitis.
– Trachoma
– Acute and chronic blepharitis.
– Excessive lacrimation.
– Adjuncvant In treatment of eye infections.
Prisoline zinc eye drops side effects:
Uncommon, but may occur in some patients in tbe form of :
– Mild and transient stinging.
– Rarely blurred vision.
Prisoline zinc eye drops contraindications :
– Hypersensitivity to any of its components.
– Narrow angle glaucoma.
Prisoline zinc eye drops precautions :
It should be used cautiously in the presence or the following conditions:
– Hypertension.
– Cardiovascular disease.
– Diabetes mellilus.
– Hyperthyroidism.
Prisoline zinc eye drops use in infants and children:
Not recommended.
Prisoline zinc eye drops dosage:
1·2 drops In Ihe eye 1-4 times daily or as directed by the physician.
Prisoline zinc eye drops caution:
To be used only under medical supervision.
