The anti-inflammatory action of Anti-cox 11 (Meloxicam) is via the inhibition of cox 11 enzyme. In contrast to other NSAIDs currently availble (which are cox-l and cox II inhibitors) Anti-cox II (Meloxicam) improves the safety profile by producing fewer side effects, whilst maintaining efficacy.
It is ideal for once daily administrations, as it has elimination half life of 20 hours. The changing of formulations does not compromise efficacy or safety, thus allowingpatients to switch between formulations at their convenience.
