Colonic Ulcer



Left: 56 year-old with occult gastrointestinal bleeding and mild anemia. There was no history of gross bleeding, diarrhea or weight loss. Colonoscopy was normal except for this 1.5 cm solitary ulcer on the superior aspect of the ileocecal valve. The terminal ileum appeared normal. Biopsies were benign.

Right: 69 year-old woman with occult gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia. Colonoscopy demonstrated a solitary rectal ulcer which was benign on biopsy.
