Carotid Stent eLearning Modules
Introduction to Carotid Artery Disease and Stroke
This module, focusing on the introduction to Carotid Artery Disease and Stroke, is intended to provide physicians with basic education in carotid artery disease and stroke, carotid and upper neck anatomy, including intracranial and extracranial vasculature.
Diagnosis of Carotid Artery Disease
This module, focusing on the diagnosis of Carotid Artery Disease, is intended to provide physicians with basic education on various diagnostic modalities, including the advantages and disadvantages of each technique.
Treatment of Carotid Artery Disease
This module, focusing on the treatment of Carotid Artery Disease, is intended to provide physicians with basic education in two major intervention modalities of Carotid Artery Disease, Carotid Endarterectomy and Carotid Artery Stenting.
Carotid Stenting Procedure
This module, focusing on the Carotid Stenting procedure, is intended to provide physicians with basic education in major steps involved in carotid stenting.
Carotid Stenting Simulation
This module, providing an interactive simulation on the Carotid Stenting procedure, is intended to provide physicians with basic education in the major steps involved in carotid stenting.
Patient Selection
This module, Patient Selection, consists of 12 scenarios of patients that may be encountered in a Physician's practice. Each scenario provides a synopsis of patient's initial presentation, a brief history and physical examination (H&P), as well as results of any available diagnostic studies such as a carotid duplex. The content for this module was obtained from the Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC), and this module can accompany MSC's Carotid Intervention Course.
Carotid Angiography
