68 year-old woman who presented with complaints of "external hemorrhoids" with occasional bleeding, and constipation. Exam revealed an external anal mass (left) measuring approximately 1.5x2 cm, and a palpable extension of the lesion into the rectal vault. Colonoscopic view through the anal canal demonstrating tumor extension proximally for 3-4 cm (right).

84 year-old woman who had undergone resection of squamous cell carcinoma of the anus several years previously, who presented with rectal bleeding. Colonoscopy revealed this neoplastic lesion in the distal sigmoid, which proved on biopsy to be a late recurrence of squamous cell carcinoma.
