MADURA FOOT

m Organism: Nocardia madurae, similar to that of actinomycosis.
mRoute: Organism enter to skin of the foot through cracks in bare footed people.
mCl. picture:
Limited to foot.
Affect skin S.C. tissues, bones & joint ® destruction of the foot.
There will be multiple sinuses discharging yellow, red or black granules. In black type the spread is mainly in the subcutaeneous tissue plane.
Treatment:
High doses of penicillin with iodides.
Amputation if the foot is disorganized.
